Thanks Richard
When I look in LDAP I see Samba
SID = S-1-5-21-399018149-2014173726-3152914669
The command 'net getlocalsid'
yields:-
S-1-5-21-399018149-2014173726-3152914669
In the Samba Log I see :-
Could not peek rid out of sid
S-1-5-21-1025115222-3498510805-2498371278-1000
When I re-installed samba dose the new install have
a different Samba SID? i.e. S-1-5-21-1025115222-3498510805-249837127

Hi Gerard
I'm no expert on samba , but I do use it for radius servers. I had an issues with a debian server a while back. After upgrading the server the computer account that was created for the server in the AD domain stop being allowed by the AD domain. I deleted the account and added it back using samba it all worked again.
I use this link any time I'm playing with samba
