When did Apple say they'll support it? I don't think they will, not for a
long time anyway. They've invested too much in h264, hardware-wise, to drop
it now.
When dedicated decoder chips support h264 & vp8 efficiently, when the patent
dispute clears up, and when the huge majority of online video is encoded in
vp8, then maybe, just maybe.
