Hi,
We're currently looking for a budding LAMP guru to join the IT
department here at Griffith College (Dublin). The role involves linux
administration work as well as php development for our online
registration platform, our student LMS (moodle) and other sites and
services we have that rely on php/sql.
We mainly run debian and ubuntu servers and have a mixture of MySQL and
PostgreSQL databases. You'll work closely with our senior sys admin but
have plenty of scope and responsibility of your own. You don't need to
know it all from the get go, a computing degree or equivalent and some
experience working with LAMP is good start. We're looking for someone
who has a real interest in using technology to improve the way we do
things, who has enthusiasm, innovative ideas and is quick to learn.
There's also plenty of scope in this position for branching out into
other sys admin / network admin areas if it's of interest. The official
job spec is available at the link below.
