Somebody has binhex encoded a JPEG. Quite why you would do this is beyond me, but then in a world where I get sent .doc files with embedded screenshots of a 2 line text error message, nothing is unbelievable.

Aladdin systems used make a version of their Stuffit expaner for Linux, but it seems to be defunct. Probably the easiest option is to install the Debain libconvert-binhex-perl package, which comes with an example Perl script which should do what you want.
