Join and be __active__ in something like DRI.

Not only that but help people understand in unemotional and factual fashion.

Go to a local politicians clinics.
Make them aware of your concerns.
If they trot out incorrect or unsubstantiated data information, just
suggest they may not be aware of how that data is inaccurate and if they
persist offer to vote for the pirate party as you are sure lots of your
friends who have votes.

In my estimation the best you can hope for is they do nothing active!

Don't defend the indefensible, just tackle the facts!

Do remember that the publishing industry sits between the artist and the
user, it squashes both sides in order to be profitable.
Think starving artists.

Become conversant with the history of copyright and the aims of those
who have been labelled the copyright extremists.

Perhaps Boldrin and Levine's Against Intellectual Monopoly would be a
useful starting point, either in the downloadable from their site(s) or
you can buy a copy.

Regards,

Paul
