An apt-get update today has screwed up grub for me.
The apt-get interface showed me some warnings which I didn't capture,
but this was in the log:
> Installation finished. No error reported.
> /usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Attempting to install GRUB to a
> partition instead of the MBR. This is a BAD idea..
> /usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can

> Installation finished. No error reported.
It boots into grub, but gives me the following error:
> Loading Linux 2.6.32-5-686 ...
> error: file not found.
> Loading initial ramdisk ...
> error: you need to load the kernel first.
I've been playing around with live CDs, chrooting, grub-install
/dev/sda, update-grub, but to no avail. sda1 is boot, sda2 is an LVM
setup.
Clearly I don't understand grub, nor LVM.
Help!
