[ILUG] Broken IPv6 on ILUG list mail server

[ILUG] Broken IPv6 on ILUG list mail server

Sergiusz Paprzycki serek at walcz.net
Wed Apr 6 14:14:26 IST 2011

Guys,

I hope that someone who is in charge of the server hosting this mailing
list is reading it too.. :)

Seems like IPv6 is broken on the mail server (ie. refusing IPv6
connections on tcp/25):

serek at talky:~$ host -t mx linux.ie
linux.ie mail is handled by 10 morrigan.tuatha.org.
serek at talky:~$ host morrigan.tuatha.org.
morrigan.tuatha.org has address 193.1.193.138
morrigan.tuatha.org has IPv6 address 2001:770:18:7:20f:1fff:fe70:e5c

Apr 6 14:07:06 bray postfix/smtp[24979]: connect to
morrigan.tuatha.org[2001:770:18:7:20f:1fff:fe70:e5c]: Connection refused
(port 25)

That's very not nice... ;)

Regards,
