Following up

My first Linux was arount 1999 2000 
bought a Suse 6.3 cd pack of the shelf 

Have not looked back since.

I still have the CD's.

Computer at the time was a PIII 450
This box is still in running order in my parents basement (it was my mum
first PC) 
Very well traveled Bought in switzerland back to dublin and rebuilt in
Paris. It was running kubuntu 8.10 when last powered up.
