Job Title: XenServer Virtualization Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain a deep technical understanding of Citrix products and the latest
debugging and troubleshooting techniques
• Communicate with customers via telephone or written correspondence
regarding technical problems identified in Citrix XenServer or related
Citrix virtualization products and manage relationships with those customers
until the issue is resolved
• Resolve customer technical issues through diligent research, reproduction,
and troubleshooting
• Develop complex workarounds in addition to reproducing issues in-house as
needed in order to restore functionality on customers’ sites.
• Write complex technical articles for the knowledge base in order to
capture and transfer knowledge


Qualifications and Requirements

A XenServer Support Engineer must possess excellent problem solving and
communication skills.  In addition, the individual must be flexible,
dependable and have excellent time management skills and have the ability to
work both individually or in a team environment with minimal supervision.

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network storage systems and
associated protocols (NAS, SAN, File System Architecture, CIFS, SMB, NFS)
• Experience and understanding of virtualization concepts and products (e.g.
Xenserver, Open source Xen, VMWare, HyperV)
• Understanding of the TCP/IP networking stack, switches, routers and
related protocols
• Experience in supporting and troubleshooting  Linux/UNIX environments
• Excellent knowledge of Linux, Unix, Solaris or FreeBSD operation systems
• Good working experience in an enterprise LAN/WAN environment
• Excellent practical knowledge using network sniffers and protocol
analyzers (e.g. Ethereal, Sniffer, TCPDump) to assist with troubleshooting
networking issues
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python, OCAML an
advantage
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating system
• Experience with firewalls and security related issues
• Experience working in a customer focused Enterprise Support environment
• Strong written and oral communications skills in English language
• B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
