My employer, Lincor Solutions Ltd. is hiring again. For those not familiar with us, we create a software stack for use in Hospitals for both Patients and Clinical staff via touchscreen PC's. Our software is based on a mixture of Fedora (clients) and Debian (servers). We use all sorts of open source technology to leverage our software and contribute as much as possible back to upstream projects.
We're hiring for a Software Engineer on the Systems development team based in Dublin city center.
Here's the job spec.
Education
BSc in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering and at least 3 to 5 years work experience.
Technical knowledge
The role will primarily be geared towards development of applications in C, C++, PHP and Python on the Linux platform. Knowledge of standard C/C++ and the GNU tool chain is essential.
Experience of programming on Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris, or other UNIX-based operating systems is a requirement. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing self-contained applications and a solid knowledge of Linux. Experience of software development for use in consumer products would be an advantage. Knowledge of the X11 windowing system and the Cairo, GTK+ and GDK libraries is a distinct advantage.
Although not essential, a knowledge of some of the following technologies would also be an advantage: gdb, network programming (BSD Sockets), digital video, databases (in particular PostgreSQL), SOAP, XHTTP, Serial communications, security and encryption, smart-cards, Human/Computer Interaction and Human Interface Design.
Personal skills
Lincor Solutions Ltd. is a small software development company with a large and growing global customer base and so good candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, changeable environment. They will have to be flexible in the role they play in the development process. Taking on projects and showing high levels of motivation as well as the ability to interact with and aid developers on existing projects.
