Hi All,

A friend asked me to forward this request for information to the ilug
mailing list. I hope it is acceptable topic for this list. If not I
sincerely apologise. I'd be very grateful if anyone could provide
Michael with feedback regarding this very positive OSS Limerick
project.  Below is Michael's mail,

Kind regards

Mike O'Donohue.

Subject: FOSS human resources

Dear People,

I am writing for a bit of assistance in finding FOSS human resources.

I have recently been approached by two community entities in Limerick
regarding transition to an open source environment:

1: The Northside Learning Hub , an established community training and
school support facility. I have already set up 14 Ubuntu stations in
their Digihub and am in process of migrating their admin workstations
into a hybrid OS network (unfortunately MS Exchange)

2: Limerick Community Connect - A new community organisation focussed on
digital inclusion for everyone in Limerick. They are in process of
setting up their own infrastructure and shown interest in an open source
route as well. They potentially will be interested in a FOSS server.

Both parties have expressed interest in finding the right people to give
specialist training in the following:

      * Gimp
      * Inkscape
      * Scribus

Ideally these should be people with graphical expertise who are or have
used these packages in a production environment.

Also, I would like to offer the service to set up a FOSS server, but
would need someone with FOSS (or Red Hat) networking experience to work
with me on the set-up.

I am hoping you can help by relaying this message into your community
for expressions of interest.

All the best,

Michael Jonker
