Yes, though it's not clear which of the forks is the one I should
follow. Which is why I asked here, but not exactly clearly enough.
So I'll try again.
I have little experience with Ruby on Rails. I would like a simple
way to deploy Rails apps to EC2. I'm wondering if people with
experience with Rails app deployment have found a tool like
http://ec2onrails.rubyforge.org/ that has a more promising future.
I'd rather not use something at an evolutionary dead end, but as I am
not familiar with the Ruby or EC2 culture I have a hard time assessing
where the viable projects like this are.

I could. I could also purchase a calf, rear it, slaughter it and
butcher it every time I want a hamburger. But I don't. I'd rather
not reinvent the wheel - particularly with tools I am not familiar
with.
