[ILUG] POP/SMTP over SSL/TLS?

Hi all,

Does anyone know whether any of the Irish ISPs offer SSL/TLS connections
for email in a standard hosting package?

I've just been talking to one of the technical support people in
Digiweb, who told me that they can't offer this - it seems a bit
surprising in this security-conscious age that you'd be expected to send
passwords in the clear... is this the norm?
