I am not in Dublin - but you may add a few more details:
-Is he using a new router?
-Does he have trouble connecting to other access points outside of his
own with Fedora?
It sounds like Fedora has been set to have a static IP address. If this
is outside of the new routers range (most likely) you are going to get
the symptoms described. You need to set the network manager settings to
use DHCP.
