I didn't test the new server, I simply recompiled the software and copied
the config over 1:1.
With a higher log level, I find this
[2012/12/17 11:57:56, 2] smbd/service.c:585(create_connection_server_info)
guest user (from session setup) not permitted to access this share (ME)
(where ME = my user id, which is not "guest"). So, for some reason, it looks
like user names aren't being translated correctly, despite the fact that I
can login using the password configured (smbpasswd back end).
Could this be a problem of SIDs? Not that I can figure out how to the values
on either server.
# ./bin/net getdomainsid
Could not fetch local SID
