Hello all,
A little while ago I posted a question to the ilug regarding the location
of my vmlinuz file. I just wanted to share the resolution of it because
it's somewhat interesting and might be of future use to someone else on the
list.
The most important piece of information that I overlooked is that my
servers are itanium rather than x86. This means that they use EFI for
their BIOS. Efi stores the kernel and elilo.conf file on a hidden boot
partition on the attached root drive, not on the root filesystem or any
other visible fs. In order to see it you must explicitly mount it.
You can Google efi for more information.
