Hi.
For many years now I've been recommending OpenOffice over the dominant
commercial alternative to everybody who might be interested, and since
the LibreOffice fork, despite LO's apparently-brighter future, have been
sticking with the OpenOffice mantra to avoid confusing the message. And,
now that OpenOffice seems to have cleared-up any doubt about its
open-source future by joining the Apache fold, it seems that there's now
no reason to think about LO at all, unless one of the few specific
LO-only features is needed.
Am I right or am I wrong? Is LibreOffice the future? Can they both sit
happily together in the same market? What do people here recommend to
their non-tech Windows-using contacts? I'd be happy to hear what people
think.
Cheers.
Tony.
(P.S. I still use OO myself, since it's the only one packed in my
distro)
