Hello folks. My name is John Gough I've just joined ilug and this is my
first post. I'm a sound engineer and have recently set up an online arts
radio station in Tallaght called Curious
Broadcast.<http://www.curiousbroadcast.com>
Our studios are in Rua Red in Tallaght and we are running Ubuntu studio as
our main OS on all 5 pc's. I am a relatively new Linux user but have enough
experience to get our streaming server (icecast) up and our automation
software (Airtime <http://sourcefabric.org/en/airtime/> &
Rivendell<http://www.rivendellaudio.org/>)
installed and running and our local network connected. I'm about to start
exploring shared servers on our local network and some experimenting with
netjack <http://netjack.sourceforge.net/> over the web to do outside
broadcasts.
I'm currently the only person working (in Dublin) on the station and am
wondering if anyone here is interested in getting involved. We are not for
profit organization and have no money to offer but we do have a nice studio
which can be yours to explore radio in. If you have an interest in
broadcasting over the web or indeed FM - our hope is to apply for a licence
next year. Then this may a project you would enjoy.
Basically I'm looking for someone with some linux skills to help with the
above as I work full time as an engineer and my time is becoming more and
more restricted.
Here is a link to our call for artists also -

If anyone has ideas for tech/linux shows or other sound project they'd like
streamed please get in touch.
Thanks for time and thanks for providing this resource. I look forward to
contributing and speaking with you all soon.
Thank for reading
John
