All,
A new evening course is just about to start in the National Maritime
College of Ireland <http://www.nmci.ie/> for those with an interest in
Marine I.T. Communications, details below. A registration night will be
held on Monday January 16th, it will give an opportunity for those with
interest into the maritime sector to register on this course, but also
for those planning to drift into this sector to ask questions. To the
best of my knowledge it is the first of its kind in Ireland, so it is
also about assembling a team of people with an interest for I.T. in
hostile environment. There are posts on the NMCI website, also partners
such as CH-Marine, iMERC3 and others have relayed the message on their
blogs.
A solid portion of the course will touch on Linux (Ubuntu & Centos) as
well as AIS dispatcher, Polar Navy available on Linux.
