[ILUG] GPT Partitions on Linux Mint

[ILUG] GPT Partitions on Linux Mint

Has anybody had any success with Linux Mint recognising GPT partitions?

My laptop currently has a GPT partition scheme as I recently tried out a
copy of OSX on it and wasn't a big fan. This has since been removed but my
Windows 7 installation is still using the GPT partition scheme.

I had installed gptsync to my bootable USB to try and create an equivalent
MBR structure but this doesn't seem to have resolved anything as both the
installer and Gparted aren't reading the partition structure correctly.
They can't determine end blocks of the partitions etc.

Anybody got any ideas? I've really liked Mint since trying it out so I'd
love to get it installed without having to backup wipe and format the
drive.
