Don't forget about the option of satellite.
UK Freesat is available, and will almost certainly work in Italy.
All you need is a dish pointed at 28.2E and you'll be good.

Http://lyngsat.com/ has plenty of information on what you can pick up in
your location.

Personally, I have a dish with a quad LNB pointed at 28.2E (2 feeds going
to a Sky+ box for WAF) with 2 feeds going into a dual DVB-S2 card in a
linux box running HTS Headend. I have another dish aimed at 19.2E, but I'm
waiting for a chance to sneak another quad LNB and dual DVB-S2 card into
the house ;)
