My rsyslog.conf contains:
# Log anything (except mail) of level info or higher.
# Don't log private authentication messages!
*.info;mail.none;authpriv.none;cron.none /var/log/messages
So, would a line of the form:
local7.none /var/log/syslog
cut out the syslog messages?
# Save news errors of level crit and higher in a special file.
uucp,news.crit /var/log/spooler
Also, a line of the form:
local7.crit -/var/log/dhcpd.log
achieve goal 2?
