Thanks Brendan, I'll have a look there.

To answer your question: Any 'phone that allows me to install emacs
and its extensions onto it without rooting or jailbreaking it *and*
that has a hardware keyboard with a real-live [CTRL] key (a [META]
would be nice too!) is one for emacs and org-mode.

So far as I see, only the N900 meets those criteria.

They're important because I want to keep my 'phone in support and
warranty: it's expensive and I don't want to lose much of what I pay
for by voiding the warranty on rebuilding or circumventing the OS; and
I'm more comfortable with a hardware keyboard for various reasons.

If anyone on the lists knows of alternatives to the N900 for the above
criteria, I'd love to know, as my 'phone is aging.
