There used to be a nice, if rather old and showing
its age (I remember using it on Sun workstations
yonks ago) program called ‘metamail’. Whilst full
of slightly goofy options, its basic purpose,
produce a human-readable version of an e-mail
message, was quite useful (especially when it's
in something awkward like “base64” encoding):
metamail <MESSY-MESSAGE >DECODED-MESSAGE
However, it does not seem to exit in Ubuntu 11.10,
so does anyone know a replacement ? (I know that
by playing a few games with NMH I can achieve the
same functionality, but am wondering if there is
a simple replacement, preferably not tied to any
particular MUA.)
cheers!
