[ILUG] fn Key issue

[ILUG] fn Key issue

Hey,

Wondering if anyone can help out with an issue I am having with a
laptop [dell Inspiration 6400].

A while back the fn key stopped working, this seem to coincide with an
upgrade of the OS [ubuntu] I can't see how this would be the case, but
anyway I am being blamed :)

The problem with the fn key not working is that the wireless can't be
turned on and monitors toggled etc.

I have tried a changing the acpi boot options but no joy, also xev
doesn’t seem to receive the fn+key combo.

The laptop also has windows installed, the fn dosen't seem to work under
windows either, but the wireless is [always] on and working ok.

Does anyone have any suggestions to get the key working again ?

Or alternatively is there another way to toggle the wireless without use
of the fn key,

Any suggestions would be great,

Thanks in advance,

Keith
