Hmm, I did this about 9 months ago with no problems.
To test I Just registered my new system with the rhn and got
much the same error message as you. This is because
you can only have one (demo) machine to update per
user a/c. So I went to https://rhn.redhat.com and
logged in and clicked on the "Systems" tab, and
there I could delete the old system and change the
settings on the new system to "demo". I'm guessing
that you should be able to see/change the settings
for your system using the same method.
Then I just Start the "System tools" -> "Redhat Network" app
and it all works nicely.
Note there are other repositories that you can use to keep
"up2date", but this is a little harder to use in fairness:
Note the rhn updates mainly only have security updates.
