----------
Hi
If this message is to the wrong forum please accept my apologies in advance.

I have been playing with using Linux instead of Windows for more than a year.
I have managed to install Mandrake V8 & V9 also Red Hat 8 and now a hard disc
install of Knoppix (Debian)
I really have no problem with anything except getting the internet connections working.
I had success with MDK V8 but have not managed to replicate that since.

At present I have the modem setup and working and can dial my ISP (UTVinternet)
But very quickly the connection dies.
I have tried different settings and can even get it to log on but cannot use email or browser.
I am sure I am missing something very simple.
I would appreciate help or pointers to where I can get help.
I have a linux manual but it has been no help.

Regards
N Donagh
