I think the correct term for that sort of thing is "biggerdickism",
coined on (I think) this group way back when by JMCC.

But sometimes you have to get involved in that sort of stuff, if only to
put someone who doesn't know diddly about what they're talking about in
their place. I'm not talking about the real heavy "My God can beat up
your God" type of stuff, which can get dangerous in the wrong crowd, but
the type of person who is merely engaging in biggerdickism to (a)
irritate you (b) score points off you among your/their friends.

There's elitism everywhere you go in life, you can't escape from it, why
should Linux users be any different? We're all human, except maybe for
some of the more BOFH sysadmins.
