A one-bedroom apartment is around £600 a month. You can get two bedroom
ones for around £650, and three bedroom ones for £850 - these all differ,
obviously, but not by as much as you would expect. Food is moderately
expensive - it's about 40% more than Berlin, and 20% less than London, if
that's a help. Eating out is slightly expensive; it's difficult to get a
decent main meal for under £9. Alcohol is getting more expensive too,
averaging around £2.60 for 550ml of lager.
I've found (in my own limited experience) that it's possible to get a
single bedroom apartment near(ish) the city centre, on the north side, for
around IR450-550. You should get a really nice place for 600. On the
button with food and beer...compared with Italy, you can probably expect
to pay double for fresh fruit & veg, canned goods are slightly more
expensive, fish & meat are about the same. Bottled & canned alcohol is a
huge amount more expensive than Italy, but drinking out isn't vastly more
expensive (although it is more expensive) iirc, a 200ml glass of beer in
Italy was around 1000 lire, which would make a pint about 3000l, IR1.50.
