Hmm, I think kev was being sarcastic there.
sarchasm (n): the gulf between the person being sarcastic and the person who doesn't get it.
As a very sweeping generalisation, I've found that most yanks don't get sarcasm or irony - well, in
california anyway. An example is that Alanis Morisette song "ironic" - none of those things are
ironic, just dumb (I know she's from canadia, but it's close enough). Any time I was sarky with
anyone I worked with over there it either went straight over their heads or they took it at face
value. It made taking the piss out of them like clubbing a baby seal - so easy that it takes the fun
out of it.
