Here's a couple of cool ideas...

o Befriend Kevin Warwick and get him a job alongside you and go everywhere
together.

o Amputate Kevin Warwick's arm and bring it with you everywhere you go.

o Attach microswitches to the hooks for your bowler umbrella and briefcase.

o Use a PIR detector to detect movement in your house. (I can see a problem
here)

o Dissect a garage door remote fob[1]. Replace the encoding IC with a PIC
IC programmed to send a signal short coded signal every 10 minutes. Modify
the receiver to accept the code and assume you are in for 10 minutes every
time it receives the coded signal.

o Get a pair of IR beam detectors[1] like they use to save people from
having their car crushed by automatic garage doors. Place them at your door
to detect your arrival and departure. (I assume you live alone.)

o Wire an infrared LED up to a solar powered encoder and attach to a
baseball hat. Wear the hat when at home. When the lights are on and
someone's home, hey presto, mail. (I can see a problem here)

o Those anti-theft devices they use in clothes/book shops contain a tuned
circuit. The detector works like a dip meter. The presence of a tuned
circuit near the detector places a load on the generated signal.

I'm all out of ideas now.

Have fun!

Peter
