no more than you would get in Dublin or Galway. There is a few bad areas
and one or two housing estates that you are just asking for trouble but
that is not a problem as most of them are on the far end of the city from
the University.
Most of the trouble is concentrated on the same group of people over and
over again. In 5 years of college in Limerick (am still here), I have
never got hassled in town. Any time there is trouble, it is the same group
of dodgy people at each other. They very rarely bother to hassle a student
as they aren't Limerick people.
Most of the reputation it has is from years back when it really was a bad
place to be. While it still gets rough from time to time, at the end of
the day it isn't bad at all. I like the place anyway.
