[ILUG-Social] Please tell me about Limerick

On Mon, 17 Sep 2001 10:39:55 -0500, the words of
Stephen_Reilly at dell.com did resemble:

> pints
> are £2.35 (Guinness), except in Clohessy's or the South Court where they
> think £2.50 is a much better idea. ^^^^^^^^^^^

As a student you probably won't have a need of being in the Raheen area,
but should you find your way out this far _don't_ drink Guinness in the
South Court Hotel. It tastes like horse piss filtered through a bucket of
shite. This has been my only grief with Limerick for the last two years.
Having lived previously in Dublin, Limerick is a nice change, rent and
general living prices are much lower than either Cork or Dublin. Other
than that Limerick is about as peacefull a place you'll ever find. I was
told by several locals to not hang around outside Supermacs in the wee
hours of a Friday/Saturday/Sunday morning unless you're looking for
trouble, but I've never seen any around there. I also think this applies
to Supermacs all over the country in general.
