Hey there,
As some of you might know, there is an intention to hold GUADEC [GNOME
Users and Developers European Conference] in Dublin next year - probably
sometime in April or May.
GUADEC is an annual gathering of GNOME developers, enthusiasts and
individual, business and government users worldwide. It provides a
forum for members of the GNOME project to showcase their work and to
discuss the future of GNOME development. Housed in a different European
country each year, GUADEC is a catalyst for the future development and
direction of GNOME.

GUADEC has been going for 3 years now, visiting Paris, Copenhagen and
Seville and has been getting bigger every year - last year there were
300+ attendees. It attracts large amounts of developers both from the
GNOME and non-GNOME fields giving a wide range of talks and tutorials.
The recent conference webpage can be seen at -
http://guadec.gnome.org
This year we're hoping for GUADEC to be bigger than before - with the
possibility of extending the conference another day or so, having
professional tutorials for a fee.
But we still need a date, a conference location [1] and all the other
things associated with a large conference like this....and a committee
;)
If you'd like to get involved and work with an incredibly cool bunch of
people [cough] to help organize this, email guadec-planning at gnome.org
and offer to help. Feedback/suggestions would also be helpful.
See ya,
Glynn ;)
