now yes, rtfm and thing(<man section number>) are elitist; they assume
you know what those mean. but i've seen comments like colm's, where
he explains how to use man to find the answer, called elitist. and no
one seems to reject that notion. there's user friendly and then there's
the tech version of the white-man's burden. "aw, they're just not smart
enough, you have to lead by the hand like a child."
