apparently there was a discussion on business related issues and linux.
seems like there might be some unexpected revenue sources that people

Subject: Flamers In A Cage For Lilo
http://liloaid.ecce.co.uk/
Theo de Raadt (of OpenBSD) and Darren Reed (of IPFilter fame) have agreed
to settle their differences in a charity cage fight! The first contestant
to lapse into unconsciousness will accede to all the demands of the other,
in a showdown that has been over a year in the making.
Theo told us, "For months now we've been flaming each other on each of our
project's public mailing lists, but when we saw lilo needed the cash so
bad, we decided we'd beat the shit out of each other for real, and for a
good cause! When I win I was going to make Reed give a testimonial for
OpenBSD's own packet filter, pf, but when his IPFilter fans see how badly
I've kicked his ass they'll know who to trust with their network."
The vicious contest will be played out in a specially constructed Cage of
Death somewhere in the San Francisco Bay area and presided over by Don
Marti of SVLUG. On the choice of venue, Reed commented, "California was
chosen because it's neutral territory far from both Canada and
Australia. Plus both Theo and I think Linux really sucks, so neither of us
can hope for any breaks from Don." He seemed unruffled by de Raadt's
threats and went on to tell us, "When the entire Internet hears me break
de Raadt's arms and legs over the live stream, they'll know this is no WWF
playfight. I hope for OpenBSD's sake that he's learnt how to fix kernels
from a full-body cast."
