That's because it's been so long since anyone's read any mail by
him - he's been in killfiles for the last 4 years or so :)
And to put it on the record, apart from a couple of times when he
got on my nerves (usually with his approach to virginal, spartan,
tightly-maintained machines, and insistence (occasionally to the
detriment of being useful) that a lot of stuff isn't necessary),
Rick's never really pissed me off. In fact, as sysadmin posts go
(all uptight about security, paranoia and so on), I find him
quite well-informed. A little brash, perhaps, and not
un-forthcoming with his views, but well-informed at least.
