[ILUG-Social] thinkgeek petition

[ILUG-Social] thinkgeek petition

I queried the "handling charge" on my last thinkgeek order and was told that it was
a charge levied by the airborne express customs clearing agent in dublin, for the
pain and suffering involved in holding up my order so that duty could be paid. I
found the agent really crappy to deal with and almost told them to stick it up
their arse but I needed my caffinated mints (half of which were consumed by a
colleagues 3 year old hyperactive son while visiting the office, said colleague
went from apologising about my mints being gobbled to the verge of tears as he
considered the effect of 7 cans of coke size doses of caffeine to a kid who isn't
allowed sugar or coloured sweets, i laughed a lot). I got the impression that these
guys normally deal with much bigger shipments and small order were to be
discouraged through massive overcharging.
