yes for example in the specific case as I mentioned in my previous message. 
They do not have latencies that would be noticable in most situations, but as 
gaming was the prime motivation for the choice of my monitor, I decided an LCD 
display wasnt good enough.

   You will not see any LCD monitors used by serious players of fps games, at 
the big competitions, lans etc. There's a very good reason for that. I'm not 
saying LCD latencies are a problem for most users, they arent. I'm saying they 
are an issue for some people. LCD's are not better, for everyone , in every 
way.

My monitor, an iiyama vision master pro 453 can support up to 1920x1440. Now 
while I'm sure you can get LCD's that support higher resolution, LCD's aimed 
at the consumer market dont. You need to pay big bucks to get that in a LCD 
display. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure you will :)

Now, obviously refresh rates on two completely different technologies is a 
daft method of comparison. My point was that a crt display with a very high 
refresh rate is going to be acceptable to the vast majority of users. Perhaps 
you misread my message.
