I got one as a present for my brother a couple of weeks ago. It's
solid and good without being outstanding; we think that the picture
was slightly grainier than that produced by my Sony 725, but that was
only noticeable on my SVGA projector; not on a PAL TV.
Digital sound output works perfectly with everything from PCS to dts,
and the 5.1 analogue outputs are everything you'd expect. Multiregion
works well, even with RCS disks.
The build quality of the unit is good and solid, but doesn't have that
"indestructible" feeling I get from more expensive kit. The remote
control is garishly-coloured, but easy to use and navigate with. No
jog dial, though.
All in all, excellent value for money; probably the best of the
"under €250" players - it's not as good as my Sony, but it's half the
price.
