[Webdev] OO Php v's Java

[Webdev] OO Php v's Java

Folks,

Has anyone tried implementing anything in a serious OO fashion with php?
I'm not talking about creating a simple object and doing something with
it, but say applying a design pattern (say a factory method) and then
using it?

Any thoughts? Comments? Or should one just stick to Java?

Actually can anyone recommend any good case tools for Linux?

l8r,
Fintan
