It's hardly a justification, but GNOME comes with a lovely little applet
called "Screen shooter", which will let you draw a bounding box on your
screen, and save it as a jpg in your home directory. It's brilliant - you
aren't bound to either grab the whole desktop, or just a window of an
application. Very handy for grabbing window groups to show people what a
set of windows looks like, and including window decor etc.
