I'm not going to answer the question directly, because you'll probably know the
route I would take. Ultimately though, there is no "best path". It's path is the
one you feel most comfortable with, taking into account all the advantages and
disadvantages. Which are:
Perl
Advantage - runs on both.
Disadvantage - unless you're running mod_perl (you can't on Windows), it's slow
(in comparison).
PHP
Advantages - It's fast. Unless you're running Phour, which is faster. Or the
Optomizer, which is faster again. Easy to code. Runs anywhere, including PWS.
Talks to pretty much *anything*, really easily.
Disadvantage - Umm... it's really... no... it sometimes... eh... it can...
umm... Are there any?
ASP
Advantage - Umm... it's really... no... it sometimes... eh... it can... umm...
Are there any?
Disadvantage - Too many to list.
A couple of points - if you *really* want to use ASP (and you shouldn't),
Chilisoft have a port of ASP that runs on Linux. (But you shouldn't.) But more
importantly - why are you using PWS? I would have though it would be a lot
easier on yourself to install Apache for Windows?
