I did the tests again on the one box and turns out Apache and AOLserver
aren't that different. In fact Apache beat AOLserver in static and
dynamic page requests! I'll post some figures on Monday.
What I would like to do is have both stream large amounts of data to
several hundred concurrent users and see which server handles the load
better.
The Apache Bench test is great for finding out which server is best at
handling sudden large numbers of requests (ie. being slashdotted!) but
I'd have to leave it run for longer to smooth out any results..
Donncha.
