Using a number of different database types can make it difficult. The
simplest method is to use a centrally updated database file. This can be
an Access .mdb file if all the others are using Access. The difference
between the Access db on the users' computers and this one is that all
the columns will be prefixed 'Temp'. The users can then run a macro in
Access to import the changes by comparing the Temp data with their
existing data. The users can also run another macro to export the
changes they have made (this time using the prefix Username) but that
can make the model slightly more complex. This kind of model is actually
more common than people realise ;-) since it underpins Usenet.
