Hi,
I have a need to watermark some images. I do not mean invisible
watermarking, or steganography, for which there seems to be numerous tools
around. I want to put a mark on an existing picture. This is usually done
with some kind of a mask which is applied to the picture with a bevelled
edge so that the desired watermarking symbol appears to be embossed into (or
out of) the picture. A little hunting reveals that there are a number of
'doze packages which do this but I was sure that I had read that some
combination of pnm or Imagemagick utilities could do it. However, some
serious RTFMing and experimentation later, I've had no joy.
Crossposted to webdev because it's something people there might know about.
Regards,
Niall
