I'm prefectly prepared to believe that it's only a problem with Linux/NS, as
that's where I was testing it. Frankly, I don't care where it does work :-)

Documented behaviour, I suppose because using the submit method implies
programming therefore you could do the relevant checking yourself without a
handler.
