Would those of you who know both be prepared to suggest which is better for
a newbie ? I know the "which is better" debate drags on, and I'm a Perl
person myself, but learning PHP a little more is on the list.
However, I'm concerned now with making a recommendation to an old friend. He
knows neither Perl nor PHP but he does have plenty of clue, so which to
suggest - Perl + CGI.pm (which I don't use, but I'm sure is the way to go
for a Perl newbie) or PHP ? I've a suspicion that PHP is the answer,
particularly for instant gratification, but I'd like comments from those
who've used PHP more than I have.

Niall
