qt too. In fact the qt bindings are much more complete than the gtk ones.
And since all the GUI code is compiled C/C++, it's nice and fast.

The string handling is great! Unless your referring to regexps, which are
not as easy to use as in perl, but that's probably perl's only
advantage over python. Nice unicode support too.
