Hmmm, okay from the point of view of someone who does work within a multinational, and works within the overall QA organisation, the testplan is your legal, cover your ass, document. But it also shows exactly what you are looking for. It is important though, and there are a couple of offical standards. I'll dig up some of these and send them on.
